A few thoughts

It would be so easy, to tear into many groups, individuals and beliefs, shredding them like hamburger. They are evil, sometiimes openly so, others coating it so that it drips with sugar. It may taste rich and sweet as it goes down, but turns into a bitter evil poison in your soul. False prophets and teachers, spreading their evil across the internet and air waves, in the bookstores, and even in your churches and schools. Be careful who you listen too, make sure they speak the truth. This applies to everyone, nothing is to be accepted without your knowing what they say is Truth!

Most folks will have a list of groups or people come to mind when reading this. And among Christians, we would find many repeated over and over. Yet they find no lack of followers, or those willing to invite them in listening to their every word. There is something very wrong within the church when these false prophets and teachers have such an easy time spreading their lies. It is long past time for the truth to take first place in and out of the church. When the Truth is your foundation, the whole building will be strong, make sure Christ is your cornerstone.

Sometimes things are just local custom or tradition, often there is nothing wrong with them. But neither custom nor tradition is ever to be allowed to take the place of Truth. The truth must always come first, and Jesus Christ is the Truth. If anything does not agree with the teachings Christ gave to us, it must be thrown out as false doctrine, do not allow such teachers to even open their mouth within your churches, schools or homes. I can only hope that all of you have taken the time to know the Truth, and keep it constantly in your soul. It is your major defense against all forms of evil. And it is your sword with which to fight against evil.

Persecution

Knowing how much there is around the world, I did a search to find what there was on the web within the fifty States. It will surprise you, especially if you do not limit it to just Christian. In past posts, I spoke on hate and rejection, persecution is just another and often stronger version of the same thing. If allowed to grow it becomes a cancer, and as we have seen in other countries people begin to die because of it.

We cannot allow this to happen in the States or Canada. No matter what one group thinks of another, is no reason to ignore it if we see them being persecuted. At this time most persecution in the States, is directed at cults, religions other than Christian, Negroes and folks who are GLBT. Maybe this does not include you (yet), but the persecution against Christians is on the rise. Many of these cases are in schools and other buildings where the government has any control at all. Also, individuals and groups such as the ACLU are filing more cases against Christians and anything having to do with Christ.

Unless you want to see your churches and Christian schools closed permanently, it is past time for all of you to stand as one and become a strong force to put an end to all persecution in north America. If it is allowed to grow, it is only a matter of time before you find yourself among the persecuted. You may even find yourself thrown in jail or prison for your belief in Jesus Christ in what was once called a Christian nation. You cannot forget about this and think someone else will stand up and do it for you!

Your church & the government

Unless you belong to one of the few churches who have chosen to stand on their own, then the government has control over both church and pastor. He or she can only preach what the gov. says is okay, and all records must be sent to the gov. Why? Just for claiming to be a non-profit org. Any church who does so is selling itself to the governmen. If you care about your freedoms at all, it is long past time to leave these churches. Form a new one of your own, and make sure you keep the government out! It is not so hard to do, and well worth it in the long run.

Many freedoms that were once enjoyed by the church are long gone, how many more must we lose before folk stand up and demand all of the rights and freedoms given by the constitution be returned immediatly, or begin filing criminal charges against those who have stolen them from us. When enough of them are doing years in prison, the rest will give in without a fight. Each of the major denominations are large enough, and rich enough to get this started. That would allow the smaller ones to join in beside them. This is not asking, or even demanding anything that the constitution does not already guarentee each and every person in all fifty States!

If the people do not stand up, what freedom they still have will be taken away. So far the church has allowed themselves to be pushed around and stolen from by the federal and State governments without a fight. Once allowed to start, they will not stop until the church becomes nothing but their slave. Talk about it with those around you, and if you do not already know, study the constitutions of your State and that of the fifty States. You may be surprised at how much you have lost already.

Today's church

During the 1900's the five offices Christ gave to the church, began to slowly be restored. Instead of pastors thinking they were everything, they realized they were only one of the five offices. They also began to spend more time being a pastor and less pretending to be an apostle, prophet, teacher and evangelist as well. When there was no one else, the pastors may have had a small excuse. But even then, many were being called by the Lord to each of the five offices. It was only the church government which had replaced them and totally rejected all but pastor. For centries even the pastors were being called priests.

Many continued to go out as an evangelist and spread the good news, it was not a title they desired, or power over other, but to save the souls of as many as they could. Others continued teaching God's word to the people, they also were denied their proper title and place in the Lord's body, but continued with the work they had been called to do by the Holy Spirit. Prophets were totally rejected by the government of each denomination, and would be thrown out of the church, or even killed for following their call. Apostles in many cases were either called a pastor or the new office not given to the church by Christ, missionarys. During this long dark time in the church's history the Holy Spirit continually guided the church back to the truth they had started with. There are still churches today who reject all offices but pastor!

Evangelists were the first to be accepted again, though without their proper title or authority in Christ's body. Even today, there is only one office to which people are ordained, and that is pastor. You see most evangelists and teachers being ordained as if they were pastors. With all of the Christian schools it at least has the appearance that teachers have again become accepted, but not as an office to which the Holy Spirit has called them. Too often pastors are still trying to take the authority of an apostle, and claim no one but the first twelve disciples were apostles. Prophets in many churches are beginning to fulfill their call, but in the same manor without title or authority, unless they become ordained a pastor and use that ordination as their authority. A few are beginning to stand up and take their place as an Apostle, but as an office it is still rejected by most churches and denominations.

There are enough good books on this for those interested enough to spend the time and money to learn. With all of the time that the body of Christ was kept in the dark, the truth of the five offices will not be returned to the church or accepted by the body in a day. We have come a long way, but there is still a long way to go.

Change within the church

There has always been churches who were far from what most believe to be Christ's true teaching, and there most likely will be until he returns. But when the major denominations teach and preach things which are not true, it is far past time for the people to leave them.

We see almost all of them teaching hate and rejection not only from the pulpit, but on TV, radio, the internet and in books. Much of this hatred is directed toward muslims and the GLBT community. There are clearly some in each who live lives far from the life God's word tells us to live, but because some do evil deeds, all cannot be condemned for it.

No one condemns all Christians because of the evil deeds of a few. Yet they would condemn all gay men, not for deeds they have seen, but only heard of. And they do not have one wittiness to bring before the elders of their church!

With the muslims, can they be expected to live lives according to God's word, when they do not believe it? They have their own books they claim to be the truth. No matter how wrong those books are, can they be expected to do anything less then follow the teachings in them?

It has come to the place where many folks have walked away from the mainline churches. Some have found a new home in a local church or a smaller denominations. But others just walked out with no plan of ever returning.

We have seen some 'accepting churches' appearing across the states in the past 20-30 years. A few have grown large enough to form their own denomination. Still it is very possible to go too far in trying to accept folks as they are. Accepting people does not always mean accepting their deeds. But people cannot be condemned for deeds others only think they are doing.

There is a lot more to this, but a blog is not the place to be writing a book about it. No one needs to look very hard to see the churches busy spreading this hatred and rejection every day.

Changes

I started this blog, and then forgot about it, until I recently thought again about trying to write one and began looking for a place to open one. It has been some time since I last posted, we will see if that cannot be changed.

What has changed since my last post? The government is so deep in debt it will never be paid, even all of the taxes cannot pay the interest due. Many more laws have been passed taking away even more rights and freedoms. And some parts of the government have grown either much larger than they were, or much more evil.

Still, it is bad enough to have an evil government, since there has never been a government that was not evil. Some have started with good intentions, but the evil within always grows until there is nothing left of the government but evil, it is the natural progression of all governments.

If only it was just the government, in too many ways the people themselves have followed the same path. And that is sad, but not unexpected. It wasn't so long ago, that the church was a good example, and this was even called a Christian nation. Of course this is not a nation, but a union of fifty indepenent and sovereign States. Maybe there is still hope that the church will turn around and return to the Lord, but as large denominations, I place no hope in that.

I will try and place more posts, and say plenty more on these and other topics. So many changes needed, but will any be made in the right direction?

What next?

Christians used to not only be accepted, but were seen as the normal, and that was only 40 years ago. As I went through school, that acceptance was taken away one step at a time. Now it has also been removed from our courts, prisons and almost from the military.
It will not be long before even churches are no longer allowed, and we should have been asking long ago: "What are they going to take away next?" But the Christians stayed silent, they could have been demanding the rights given to them by the constitution, but they would not speak up.
Now they are so busy cutting each other down, and showing a hatred toward GLBT folks, that the government continues to take their rights away, and few of them even notice. By the time they finally wake up, it will be too late. It is much harder now to take back what is rightfully ours, but it can still be done, as long as enough are willing to stand up and take action.
Of course, it is not only the Christians that our own government is attacking, by removing one right after another, it is every citizen of the United States. What this government is doing, is far more than what brought about the revolution against England. they were willing to stand up and pay the cost if they had too, are we?
I am not advising a second revolution, but to start local, and force them to obey the true laws of our land. So few people even know the true laws of the United States, that the law writers have been free to write a large number of laws that were void before the ink dried. A law that is against the constitution, cannot be enforced! Anyone who tries becomes a criminal. Which means all of this nations former peace officers (they now call themselves law enforcement officers) are now a band of criminals who should be sent to prison.
While at first this may not seem to be a Christian matter, why do you think so many Christians came here in the first place? Are you looking to become a slave of the federal government? Didn't we already have a war over turning people into slaves in 1865? This nation was founded on freedom, rights, liberty, religion and the pursuit of happiness!
They must be forced to ignore all laws that are in violation of the freedoms, rights and liberties guaranteed to every citizen of the United States. This is the only way Christians will continue to be free to worship the one true God. It is the only way we will continue to be a free people. if the Christians stand up as one, the rest of the people will fall in with them.

The Five Offices

I have been asked about the fivefold ministry. Since there are some folks out there who don't know what I was talking about, I will give a short description.
When Christ returned to the Father, he gave five offices to the church: Apostle, Prophet, Pastor, Teacher and Evangelist.
Ephesians 4:8,11; And he gave some, Apostles; and some, Prophets; and some Evangelists; and some, Pastors and Teachers.
1 Corinthians 12:28; And God has set some in the church, first Apostles, secondarily Prophets, thirdly Teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healing, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
There are many places in the New Testament where it talks about Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, Teachers and Evangelists in the churches. This is just two of them.
There are churches who teach that the five offices disappeared when God's word was completed, but they have no support in God's word. The five offices Christ gave to the church, and the gifts & fruit of the Holy Spirit are just as much for today as they were for the church 2,000 years ago.

Welcome

Welcome to Goldenglory's blog:
This first post, is mainly to let folks know that I now have a Blog. What shows up here in the future, has a lot to do with what you the readers want to see. So post a note, and let those who pass through here know what is on your mind.
This is a Christian blog; there is nothing more important on earth, than spreading the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ. With the modern world the way it is, folks now come together from around the world, which makes a web page and blog a good way to reach out to people wherever they may be.
There are always many things going on in our daily lives, some are just day to day activities, others more important and we can use to talk about them with others.
Thank-you for dropping by,
Pastor Glory;
